Our household is quite holistic in nature, our routine is a bit complex, and our 3 beloved Persian kitties are on the high maintenance side. Our home is their world as they are 100% indoor kitties. Our 3 kitties are extremely unique in their love and their respectfulness of each other. My own specialties are animal behavior and psychology as well as cat nutrition.

It was not an easy task to find the right people to literally take over my daily interactions with our kitties and to be as proficient as I am. The goal was to make sure that the kitties would not skip a beat with their routine, would remain healthy, and happy, and not miss us so much when we are away.

Enter Candace and Ryan of West Coast Tails. This interview was completely different. What a pleasure! Candace and Ryan were professional as well as easy going fresh attitude. I found them to be interesting, capable, confident, holistic, well educated, friendly, loving and respectful toward each of my kitties in turn.  Candace and Ryan were clean and tidy in appearance, cheerful, grateful, willing to learn, and willing to take extra time. Obviously we hired Candace and Ryan about 2 years ago and we are very happy and grateful that we did.

Candace and Ryan have been walking our dog Rex, a 3 year old pit bull for close to a year. I couldn’t believe my luck when I found the West Coast Tails website. Candace and Ryan extremely professional and reliable. Not only are they very accommodating with Rex (he has hip dysplasia and requires some extra care), but they are great when we have a doggy friend staying with us or long term foster dog. From dog walking Rex 3 times a week to doing overnight stays I never have to worry about him. I know that he is treated like one of their own dogs and that is something that is hard to find. "Candace has stayed in my home for overnight service and has also "dropped-in"  on another series of dates for my family of horses, cats, dog, turkey, rabbit and chickens. Each time I arrived home I found my animals happy to see me but content, as though there had been little disruption in their routines and all was well. For an animal person, this is the best feeling that there is. All of my picky little routines with each different animal had been followed to the letter. Her compassion, attention and appreciation for each, particularly my elder dog "Jackson", was reassuring and definitely not anticipated. Thanks for taking such good care of all our furry and feathered children.  You must have a way with birds to have Frankie sitting on your shoulder so soon.  Having someone here who is comfortable with hook-bills really helped decrease my worry level while we were away and that was a bonus I had not even anticipated when I contacted you.

Everyone was relaxed and happy when we arrived home and I did not worry about them for one minute while we were gone.  I know that having you here on the property was a comfort for Ken's mom also.  She is in her mid-eighties now and really worries when any of us are away.

"I was in desperate need of a dog-walker/pet feeder and was very fortunate to be referred toWest Coast Tails. Candace and Ryan did an amazing job taking care of my dog and two cats . They fed them, walked my dog, and spent quality time with each of them so they wouldn't feel too lonely while I was at work. My dog Cheyenne is extremely kissy which can put some people off, but they were happy to let her be her affectionate self. Their love of animals and attention to detail made me feel completely comfortable leaving my pets in their care. I arrived home from work every night to find happy, tired and well-fed pets. "Candace and Ryan have been walking my dog for about a year now and they are wonderful. I have also had them house/pet sit for me while I was away and I was quite confident my pets and home were well taken care of. In preparation for house sitting they asked if my dog sleeps with me on the bed. I said yes but I did not expect that he be able to sleep with Candace or Ryan. Their response was if he sleeps with you then he will sleep with us. They understand how important pets are to a family and they treat my pets (I have a cat as well) as if they were their own. They know my pet's habits as well as I do and if they notice anything off they mention it right away.
